This comic was made for an assignment where the only requirements were to make a comic in two pages: the first page having at 5-7 panels and the second page needing to be a single panel. We were also tasked with creating a motion piece with our comics in Adobe After Effects.
The music notes in this comic are roughly based on "Waltz" by Frederic Chopin. I chose this song because of how it sounds and how it looks: The song played on the flute sounds quite mysterious and its repetition also makes it almost entrancing. As for how it looks, I had been deciding between this song and another and ultimately chose this one because the other song had a wide variety of notes and this one has a lot of beamed eighth notes which are more widely recognizable as music notes.

First page roughs

Second page roughs

If I were to redo this I'd rework the second page a lot because I don't think it's as well done as the first. I was trying to paint a cliff by the sea on an overcast night but something about the finish just looks too different from the first page. I also think the music bar going through the foreground character needs to be redone because the alignment is uncomfortable.
